What is acrylic nails?
Acrylic nails are applied on natural nails (call overlay or nail enhancement) or on nail extensions using “tip”. Acrylic nails are formed by mixing together liquid and acrylic nail powder to create the paste of acrylic and applied on nail bed of natural nails and tips. Nail technicians use special brush to apply acrylic nail paste, which is harden in very short period of time especially in hot weather condition, on nails and therefore it requires very highly skill to do the job.
The process involves your natural nail bed is filed slightly to create a rough surface for acrylic nail to adhere well on nail extension. After acrylic is applied on nails, they will be shaped and buffed, and then painted with either normal nail polish or gel polish.
The most advantage of acrylic nail is that it is strong, durable and last long, especially with someone who has weak or easy-to-break natural nail, this system is good choice.
How long do acrylic nails last?
Acrylic nail lasts about 3 to 4 weeks, sometime it can last for up to 6 weeks depending on lifestyle of people who wear them. After care is important here for it to last long, such as opening can by fingers not by artificial nails, wear gloves when washing up, dry after washing hand by hand dryer, etc… These to reduce water to trap and soften the natural nails underneath, hence prevent nail lifting and water can trap between acrylic nail and natural nail for a long period of time and may cause acrylic nail come off permanently.
How to rebalance (infill) or renew (take-off/fullset) acrylic nails?
If your acrylic nails are in good condition after about 2/3 weeks, you can have them rebalanced (infill). Your acrylic nails will be refilled the gaps of your nail growing and the acrylic nails last time done. If you want to have them renew (take-off/fullset), your nails will be removed by acetone followed by completely redo of new acrylic nail set.
